Apple incorporates encrypted DNS in macOS Big Sur and iOS 14

DNS

Apple has explained this week in its WWDC 2020 that the new firmwares macOS Big Sur and iOS 14 they will support DNS encryption. Everyone is aware of the obsession of Apple engineers to preserve the privacy and security of their devices and the information they contain.

In one of the more than one hundred conferences that have been given this week from Apple Park, the company has explained to the developers, which may include the DNS encryption in your next apps for macOS Big Sur and iOS 14. Bravo.

Tommy pauly, an Internet technology engineer at Apple, explained this week at his conference that the upcoming macOS Big Sur and iOS 14 firmwares will support DNS encryption.

New operating systems will support DNS under HTTPS (DoH) and low DNS TLS (DoT). Network communications sent through encrypted DNS means that an attacker will not be able to snoop on your device. This compatibility means that developers can now update their applications to support any of these DNS protocols.

Pauly explains that there are two ways to enable encrypted DNS. The first is to choose a único DNS server as the default for all applications on the system. If you provide a public DNS server, an application can now be created to configure the system to use that server safely.

The other way is more recommended for mobile devices. MDM encryption is used, to configure it in the devices, and a profile can be inserted to obtain the encrypted DNS in your network. The second way to enable encrypted DNS is to do it directly from a application.

It is certainly great news. Can encrypt your DNS not to be discovered is a safer way to connect, for example, to a public network, without having to resort to a VPN.
