Apple Intercom will not be available on Macs

Intercom

It seems that the Cupertino firm once again left Mac users aside and does not add availability in the Intercom service that the rest of the devices will have, that is, You will not be able to send messages from your Mac through Siri to the different devices of the company .

This service can be interesting in many ways and is that Apple adds the option of using it among members of the same family to send messages from anywhere as long as we have an internet connection. In this case, the Macs are out of it again and It does not appear that macOS Big Sur will have this option active in future versions.

We say this because there is no hint in the beta versions about the possible implementation of the Intercom function, although We hope that Apple will rectify this decision.

All compatible devices except the Mac

And if we look at the devices compatible with this Siri Intercom function, we realize that the Macs were left out. This is the list of compatible equipment:

  • iPhone with iOS 14.1 or higher
  • HomePod mini and HomePod
  • IPads with iPadOS 14.1 onwards
  • From CarPlay
  • With an Apple Watch on watchOS 7 or higher
  • AirPods when connected to a device

So the option of asking Siri to send a message to a home computer will not be possible with our Mac, something that we do not quite understand very well but which seems to be the case. I hope Apple rectifies some version of Big Sur and adds it as it did with the Siri assistant itself, which it came a long time later since it was released on the rest of iOS devices.
