Yesterday we informed you of a rumor that the next generation of Apple Keyboard could offer an important novelty for the next generation. This new keyboard would offer us electronic ink display on the keys of the letters, numbers and F, leaving the command and function keys as before. The company that is currently manufacturing this type of keyboard is called Sonder and Apple would have contacted it to take advantage of its technology. But apparently Apple's interest goes further and has shown interest in taking over this startup, which is part of the E Ink Holdings incubator, which belongs to Foxconn, the manufacturer of all the devices of the Cupertino-based company.

As published by the British newspaper The Guardian, Apple has met with representatives of Sonder to try to reach a satisfactory agreement for both parties.

Apple is reportedly closing in on an Australian startup that pioneered keyboards you personalize using e-ink displays. It was Tim Cook himself who met personally with the CEO of Sonder Francisco Serra-Martins in China

A key-based keyboard with electronic ink displays could allow customizing the top Function keys of the keyboard, being able to add shortcuts to Facebook, Twitter or any other application that we use often. What will probably also attract attention will be the price of this new keyboard. If Apple's Magic Keyborad is available for 119 euros and does not perform any special function, this new keyboard could cost what is not written. For now we are going to wait and see what happens next October 27, the date foreseen by some analysts for the presentation of the new MacBook.
