Apple interested in buying almost 3.000 square meters in downtown Reno

The guys from Cupertino are not only dedicated to expanding the number of Apple Stores, but they are also focusing in recent years on expanding the number of data centers, data centers with which they offer their services of calls, messages, iCloud, App Store, Apple Music ... The city of Reno, Nevada, seems to have become an important goal for the city, since in recent years, Apple has been interested in making different investments in the area. On the one hand we find a gigantic data center that is located in the Reno Technology Park, data center that will be managed by a gigantic solar farm capable of generating 200 megawatts of power and that will come into operation before 2020.

But Apple's investments do not stop here, since Apple is looking for an area of almost 3000 square meters in downtown Reno, a facility that would be in charge of managing the data center located in the Reno Technology Park. Apparently, Apple has already found a location for these tasks, but it needs the approval of the Reno city council, which will meet on Wednesday morning. After several years behind these facilities, it seems that Apple has finally reached an agreement with Northern, a real estate company that owns the premises.

It is unlikely that the Reno City Council will put some drawbacks to this investment, but of course, Apple not only needs your approval, but is also looking for some tax advantage, something common in large companies when they plan to make a significant investment in some locality. For now, Apple continues to focus on the two data centers you plan to open in Europe, one in Denmark, whose construction has already started, and another in Ireland, where the company continues to have trouble getting the go-ahead.
