Apple is working on an ARM chip for upcoming MacBook Pro models

One of the main problems that Apple has faced when renewing the MacBook Pro range, was Intel, and its continuous delays when launching processors adapted to the MacBook range. Since 2012, it has been rumored that Apple could start using ARM processors manufactured by them in order to reduce dependence on Intel and other manufacturers in the manufacturing process of its range of computers. For now, and according to Bloomberg, Apple has already taken the first steps in this regard, steps that at the moment are very small.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on ARM processors based on the T1, the processor that currently manages the Touch Bar and the fingerprint sensor of the new MacBook Pro, T1. This new processor, which would be called T310, would be destined to manage the low-power functions of the MacBook Pro, so it would work together with the Intel processor. These functions included Power Nap mode, which when the Mac is idle is capable of installing updates, syncing iCloud, and downloading emails.

This new processor would free up Intel from tasks, and Being of low consumption it allowed to extend the battery life of the MacBook Pro. All that is theory according to Bloomberg, but in practice, the 12-inch MacBook performs all these functions when that mode is activated and the battery consumption is hardly affected, so it really is not a process that can seriously affect Battery.

Apple's idea is to finish with the design of this new processor to be able to launch it together with the first update of the MacBook Pro which will hit the market at the end of the year, and which according to most rumors, would already be available with 32 GB of RAM, since current models only reach 16 GB, one of the reasons why the company has been highly criticized hard after launching these new devices.
