Apple releases macOS 12.2.1 fixing battery issues on Macs, among other things

. macOS Monterey

We had talked in previous posts that Apple was in full swing to solve the problem of battery drain on Macs because they stayed hooked to Bluetooth. It was expected to be fixed when it was released macOS 12.3 which is still in beta. But the American company has solved the problem without waiting for that version. He has launched macOS 12.2.1 and fixes that issue among other things.

Apple has released macOS 12.2.1 for all users with some important bug and security fixes. In particular, it includes a patch for the Bluetooth-related battery drain issue for MacBooks. You probably already have access to the update if you go to System Preferences> Software Update and there you can see if it is already available for your Mac.

Apple says that macOS 12.2.1 fixes a frustrating Bluetooth battery drain bug that MacBook users have been dealing with. However, Apple specifically says that the solution is for MacBooks with Intel.  But the reality is that M1 and Intel MacBook users have been having the problem.

macOS 12.2.1 also provides important security updates and fixes an issue for Intel-based Macs that can cause the battery to drain during sleep when connected to Bluetooth peripherals.

And one of the biggest things this new version fixes is a major security flaw in WebKit. Processing maliciously crafted web content could lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

As you see this new version is important to install it on the Mac if it accepts it. It fixes several important bugs that need to be fixed and is the best option if you don't want to install Betas on your brand new Mac.
