Apple Maps cars spotted in Los Angeles

It seems that the Apple Maps application does not want to stop the improvements implemented in recent years and now has new cars Subaru Impreza equipped with a new LIDAR driving through the streets of Los Angeles. In this case, the new car adds the Apple Maps silkscreen so it is clear that it belongs to the Cupertino guys.

On previous occasions with other vehicles such as Lexus for the improvement of autonomous driving, Apple did not add any Apple sticker, in this case as with some vans that it used a while ago, they do add it. Apple has been working with Maps for a long time and continues to improve although some users are still reluctant to use it, little by little many others adapt to Apple Maps, but it is a matter of tastes and customs.

Also Apple Maps need improvement

When you put a navigation application like Google Maps in front of Apple Maps, it is clear that the first one wins in many points, but the distance between the two gradually reduces and we hope that in the end they will be on par. In any case, as I said at the beginning, it is a matter of customs and most of the users adapt to the use of Google Maps or Waze for a long time and it is difficult to change. Also in Apple Maps there are some points to improve such as the language in which we can search the streets, places that are not defined as restaurants or navigation aspects outside of large cities such as Madrid or Barcelona.

But going back to the subject of the Subaru seen in Los Angeles, the reason why the frame has been changed is not known and neither is the possibilities of this new LIDAR system that they implement. At the moment It seems they only have these Subaru's deployed in Los Angeles, but it would not be strange if they will soon be seen in other parts of the United States.
