It seems that Apple stops offering its music streaming service for free during the first three months for new users and now it will cost 0,99 euros. In principle, it is not something that can affect the user's pocket too much since we are talking about one euro, but it seems strange to us that all of a sudden those of Cupertino stop offering these three months of totally free trial as they did from the beginning when this company music service was launched. Now, as does one of its biggest rivals in the music sector Spotify, Apple's service is no longer free for those who want to try it and it is equated between both services.
We are seeing changes in payments in three of the many countries that have this service available: Spain, Australia and Switzerland. These countries may be the first of many to receive the changes, but at the moment there are no changes in the rest.
Apple wants to boost its music streaming service and it is possible that record companies have something to do with this move by Apple. Last week Jimmy Iovine, chief director of the Apple Music service, met with Music Business Worldwide to carry out a new interview, where current issues were touched like Spotify's free trial period, Exclusive offers with artists and producers, and other cutting-edge themes in the music industry. It is possible that Apple already thought of charging this symbolic euro for its three-month trial period, but this is something that we do not believe is communicated to the specialized media. In any case now it is official and to try Apple Music for three months we have to pay these 0,99 euros.
