The Cupertino company launches an email to all users who have the Aperture application installed on their Mac and explains that the application is in its final phase and that after this spring we will stop having it available in the store for Mac. We have been with these warnings for a long time from the Cupertino company and now it seems that after the last public beta they want us all to be warned.
The message explains the removal of Aperture from OS X and the options available to transfer the photos from the current applications to Photos will be very simple. In the event that you do not have the email in your email account we leave you a copy of it.
Dear Aperture Customer:
In June of last year we introduced the new Photos app for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite along with the iCloud Photo Library, which allows you to safely store all your photos in iCloud and access them wherever you are. When Photos hits OS X this spring, Aperture will no longer be available on the Mac App Store. You will be able to continue using the app on OS X Yosemite, but not purchase additional copies.
You can migrate your Aperture library to Photos for OS X with all photos, settings, albums, and keywords. And don't worry, it won't disappear from your computer. Of course, keep in mind that Aperture and Photos do not share a library, so the changes you make after the migration will not pass from one app to another.
Thank you very much for using Aperture. We are sure you will love Photos for OS X.
Sincerely,
Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),
Like it or not, the new Photos app it's here in the new beta 10.10.3 of OS X Yosemite and Apple even invites us to download the public beta to be able see and try this new app for ourselves. The integration with iOS is also highlighted in the email thanks to the Photos application and this is something that many of us appreciate.
Yes, we are going to love it. On top of that they have the little shame to laugh at us to our face.
We are sure to love it! Every time you have to rate a photo, you have to create a keyword. Very comfortable! What do you want to use curves? No, it is not cool on an iPad. Brushes? You better forget.
All Aperture needed was lens correction, use of graphics cards to increase performance, and better noise reduction, things they have already implemented.
as announced in the last WWDC. But why use it, we better kill the app and try to sell iCloud storage.
Photos for OSX is not anywhere near a replacement for Aperture. It's a bad joke. If you want to scare photographers off your platform, you are doing an excellent job.
