Apple opens new developer center in Jakarta

In November 2016, Apple announced the company's future plans in Indonesia, plans designed so that the country's government would allow it to open its own Apple Store in the country and, incidentally, allow it to "skip" the obligation to sell until 30% of products manufactured domestically, the same problem you faced in India.

A year and a half later, according to The Jakarta Post, the Cupertino boys they just opened the first center for developers in Asia, specifically in Jakarta, thus becoming the third center for developers that Apple has spread outside the United States, after Italy and Brazil.

The new academy currently welcomes 75 students from the Universiad de Binus, students who are learning Objective-C and the Apple Switt programming language. These new facilities were created in association with the University of Binus and the investment has been about 44 million dollars. These facilities are located specifically in the BSD city, Tangerang.

Like the developer centers available in both Italy and Brazil, These facilities are not intended exclusively for residents of the country, but also citizens of other nearby countries can access, that is, through the University of Binus. As stated by Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives:

We are delighted to open the Apple Developer Academy in Jakarta to help provide the next generation of developers with the skills they need to develop iOS applications and join the rapid growth of the application development economy.

According to Apple, the developer community in Indonesia has increased by 50% in the last two years, a community that together with the one that is spread throughout the world has earned revenues of $ 26.500 billion, just last year.
