Apple patents different names of the Beats brand to ensure them for the opening of more radio stations in the future

Since Apple acquired the Beats Audio brand, it took the name of that brand to baptize its streaming radio station called Beats 1, however it seems that the thing will not stop there and now we know that in November the company Cupertino filed different trademark applications for more additional Beats stations with the Patent and Trademark Office with names like Beats 2, 3, 4 and Beats 5.

In this way we know that at least Apple's intention is to keep these names "safe" from the competition, to have the option in the future of inaugurate additional radio stations.

As reported via the French blog Consomac for the first time, the four name requests are assigned to "Beats Electronics, LLC" and the logo design of each of the requests makes it look the same as the one on the station. Beats 1.

If we stick to what Apple has presented, these trademark applications indicate that will be used for broadcasting and streaming music, something that is also indicative of what they will be used specifically for. In addition, Apple also owns domain names in several countries around the world, including beats2.com.cn, beats2.hk, and beats4.com.ru. for example.

For now, these requests are pending review, as previously reported, the current license agreements with Beats include permissions to include up to five additional Beats stations, so if the names are now submitted, it is certain that Apple will create a line of six Beats radio stations in the near-medium term future.

If we speculate a bit, we might think that each of the stations they may 'specialize' in a specific genre like news or sports depending on the channel. This theory makes special sense if we consider that for now Beats 1 is a station focused on hip-hop music and pop music for example.
