Apple Pay arrives in Canada tomorrow, November 17

Little by little Apple Pay is expanding to other countries. App Pay arrived in the United States in October last year and since then it has only been available in the United Kingdom, for a few months. Either Apple is in no rush to expand this service or you are encountering more problems with banks than you should and proof of this is the association with American Express that it announced a few days ago at the conference in which it announced the financial results for the last fiscal quarter.

During that conference, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, stated that Canada, Spain, Singapore and Hong Kong would be the next countries to adopt this payment technology. thanks to the agreement I had reached with American Express. American Express has a testimonial presence in Spain and this association can be a turning point for card signing, since all users who want to use Apple Pay will have to go through the hoop yes or yes, until other banks encourage adoption of this technology, if at all.

Tomorrow, November 17, is the day selected by American Express and Apple for Apple Pay to arrive in Canada. As we can read in The Globe and Mail, Apple has been reaching agreements with American Express in the different countries where it is located, due to the difficulties you have had negotiating with banks. In theory Apple Pay should have arrived in Canada in September, but the banks have done nothing on their part and forced Apple to partner with third-party card issuers that do not depend on any bank. This partnership will surely accelerate the adoption of Apple Pay in countries where it is not yet available, which could also indicate that perhaps the arrival of this payment technology should not take long to land in Spain and other European countries.
