As we announced a few days ago, and according to the information published by a Chinese bank, Apple Pay has just landed in China, today February 18 complying with the rumors. From now on, all iPhone users in China will be able to make use of NFC technology to make their purchases in establishments where UnionPay, Apple's partner in this quest, has compatible terminals. Apple has officially announced this service, although the bank's filtration stepped on the novelty. For now and once this payment system has been launched in China, now we will have to wait to see the planned expansion dates.

According to Jennifer Bailey, vice president in charge of Apple Pay, "China may be the largest market for this technology." Something logical considering the number of users but the journey of Apple Pay in the country may not be so easy, since Apple is going to have to struggle with current services such as WeChat Payment and Alipay that allow payments to be made through applications, without the need to have an NFC chip installed in the device. Apple has to make the users of the country see that NFC technology is much more secure and efficient than an application.

Although if anyone can convince the Chinese to adopt this new technology that is Apple, we just have to see how the Apple Pencil quickly ran out of units despite being priced at $ 99. Once people get used to a form of payment, it may cost them to change, worse for it, the Cupertino-based firm is going to have to spend a lot of time and money advertising This new secure payment method is available on the entire range of iPhones currently sold in the Asian market.
