It will initially do so through BNP Paribas Fortis exclusively, so it is likely that it will take many months before the rest of the banks can also offer Apple Pay to their customers.
Both VISA and MasterCard cards of this bank will be compatible with Apple Pay, including the subsidiary banks of BNP Paribas Fortis as Hello Bank and Fintro. Apple Pay will arrive in the country a year and a half after Android Pay, also initially exclusively with BNP Fortis, in March of last year.
Apple Pay will have to compete, not only with Google Pay, but it will also have to compete with other payment systems that work using QR codes that have been established in the country for some time and that have become a very common form of payment among users. Initially, that users are used to using the mobile to pay for day-to-day purchases is a great advantage for Apple Pay, since it will allow it to grow rapidly among users.
