Apple Releases '2017-001' Security Update for OS X Yosemite and El Capitan

Yesterday was update day at Apple. And it is that we have been with the beta versions of the different OS for many weeks and just yesterday afternoon all the final versions of macOS Sierra, iOS, watchOS and tvOS were released. But in addition to these new versions of the OS, Apple's office suite was also updated and as we can see in the title of this article, a Security Update '2017-001' for OS X Yosemite and El Capitan. This security update is available like the other versions of Mac from the Mac App Store and installation is recommended for all users who stay on these versions.

Apple does not argue for significant enhancements or changes to the functionality of OS X Yosemite and OS X El Capitan systems, it merely adds some improvements or fixes in security to them. Actually the only thing that the Cupertino company specifies in the notes of this update is the security version number and nothing else: «Security Update 2017-001 is recommended for all users and improves the security of OS X »

It is logical that we recommend the update for all those who cannot update their operating system to the most current version of macOS Sierra 10.12.4 for whatever reasons. Apple stopped releasing new versions with improvements for these OS X Yosemite and El Capitan a while ago, now it only releases security updates to correct bugs or system failures. To download the new security update we simply have to enter the Mac App Store and on the Updates tab we will find this update.
