Once Apple's expansion in China has finished, after opening almost 40 stores in a couple of years, Apple is focusing on India, a country that Cook visited this week and where it has completed the next opening of three new Apple Stores in the country. But it will not only focus on India, it is also focusing on opening new stores in countries where there is no presence yet and furthermore is renovating older Apple Stores such as the company's flagship store in Union Square, San Francisco, a store that I visited 8 years ago and it was more of a cave than an Apple store as we know them today.

Before the opening to the public of the renovated Union Square store, Apple has invited several journalists to show them how the works of this mythical store in the city have been. Some of the journalists who have attended the presentation have posted on Twitter a large number of images where we can see the remodeling of the store, where the head of the Apple Store, Angela Ahrendts, was located. The remodel of this store has been longer than usual, since the works have taken almost two years to complete.

Angela Ahrendts took advantage of the event to make a small presentation of the new facilities:

It's been 15 years since Apple opened its first two brick-and-mortar stores, and we're thrilled to celebrate the reopening of San Francisco's iconic Union Square store. We are not only evolving in the design of our stores, but we are also evolving in our purpose of offering a greater role to the community, in addition to serving our network of local entrepreneurs.

Keep in mind that where an Apple Store is located, businesses benefit thanks to the large number of people that the stores receive. Every time Apple announces plans to open an Apple Store, stores in the area experience an increase in the price of rents, particularly for those stores that do not yet have a commercial activity.
