Jamestown Moon Base

Apple has posted a new video on the Apple TV + YouTube channel, presented by the ex-astronaut and technical advisor from the series For All Humanity Garret Reisman, who was a member of the crew aboard the Special Shuttle Endeavor and the International Space Station.

In the series, the Jamestown base is the America's first outpost on the Moon and used as a center for exploration and research. These facilities are relatively close to the base established by Russia, the country that won the space race in the series For All Mankind.

The Jamestown base is designed to be occupied by three astronauts, is located on the rim of Shackleton crater, near the landing site of the Apollo 15 lunar module. It was launched by the Saturn V rocket and landed on the moon on October 12, 1973.

This moon base features a special shower, heated cup holders, rowing machines, resistance bands, and drawbars to exercise muscles and combat the effects of lack of gravity.

The lockers where the astronauts keep their belongings were identified with Snoopy different colored stickers. It has a previous watertight chamber for exits to the lunar surface.

It integrates a special system for filter the air and help keep moondust out of the station, moondust that is harmful to both the lungs and electronic equipment of astronauts.

At the top it has a series of solar To provide power to the base, solar panels that pivot 90 degrees vertically to capture the sunlight that comes from the lunar south pole.

According to Reisman, this base station shows us how a lunar base might have been in the Apollo era And it's as realistic as possible given the technology of the time.
