Creative Director of Apple's Ad Agency TBWA / Media Arts Leaves Company

Spike Jonze - HomePod Ad

Last week it was announced, with relative surprise, the departure of Jony Ive, to work in his own company, a company whose main customer will be Apple, how could it be otherwise. Today we have to talk about the advertising company Apple has been working with since 1984, TBWA / Media Arts.

Arnau Bosh Vergés, creative director of this advertising company, has announced that he is leaving the company. Arnau is the head of one of the Ads that have won the most awards with an Apple product. I'm talking about Spike Jonze's "Welcome Home" ad where the HomePod is advertised.

Arnau joined TBA / Media Arts Lab as Creative Director in December 2015 and was promoted to Group Creative Director in April 2018. According to the company, Arnau goes to work at SoundStorming, a new social media platform for musicians. Arnau tells The Drum media:

After working for such a big brand that means so much to the culture with such talented people as Spike Jonze, you're a brat. You wonder where do I go after this? I think if I really want to test how far I can go, now is the best time of my life to check it out, now that Apple is at its peak.

One more march

Financially Apple has no problem, however, behind closed doors It looks like a storm is coming. Apple has recently undergone a major executive shakeup. Angela Ahrendts's departure was announced first. Months later, Apple's design guru says he is leaving to work independently.

Apple has been working with TBWA / Media Arts LAb for many years, specifically the iconic Mac advertisement from 1984, ad directed by Ridley Scott. When Steve Jobs returned to the company, he renewed that partnership, with Think Different being another of his greatest successes.
