Apple TV could have a Facebook application focused on videos

Efforts by large technology companies to cover various fields and incidentally that some have to go through cash, continue. Facebook has long been considering getting into full-length video playback. Many have been the movements by Mark Zuckerberg's company to overshadow the YouTube giant, but these rumors have increased since last summer.

During yesterday afternoon, Apple's results for its first fiscal quarter were presented, and one of the messages launched by Tim Cook was the presentation of new features for Apple TV.

During this day we have known through Wall Street Journal , which Facebook is developing an application for the Apple TV. The information comes from relevant sources of the company that would be involved in the project.

The information that has been published does not go into great detail, because apparently it is a project that is in development or they want to keep it secret as much as possible.

Other media published some time ago that Facebook was working on offering multimedia programming from its platform. It was when the company first spoke of offering an ecosystem of video content. At that time, Facebook considered financing the production of audiovisual content, both of its own broadcast and acquired from third parties. There would also be a space for sports spaces. But the novelty compared to other platforms would be social interaction thanks to its own social network.

The first nod from Facebook regarding the content of devices that are played on television was last October, when it supported the application to play content via AirPlay or Chromecast.

Either way, Apple wants to boost this device, which used to be the centerpiece of our home. In this framework, an application such as the one provided by Facebook, fits perfectly into Apple's approach.
