We had already said it in previous articles, the fourth generation Apple TV and the new Apple TV 4K would have new features with the vitalized TvOS 11. It is a new operating system that makes the handling of Apple TV much easier as far as certain actions are concerned.
Today what we want to tell you is the way to interact with your Apple TV and your AirPods, if you have both devices.
The new tvOS 11 arrives loaded with news, but one of them is going to be widely used and that is that in this latest version of the Apple TV system we have a shortcut to link the AirPods with our Apple TV. Before explaining how to do it, we also have to highlight that now the AirPods are also synchronized with the Apple TV through the iCloud cloud, so everything will be much easier.
Until now, to be able to use AirPods, even on the fourth generation Apple TV we had to go to the bluetooth settings and select the AirPods for their connection to occur. Well, with tvOS 11 things change and now we can switch between the audio output through the TV speakers or the AirPods while on the general screen and holding down the PLAY button on the Siri Remote for a few seconds.
It will automatically show us a pop-up menu in which we can select the AirPods that have been synchronized with iCloud, so we must first have taken the headphones out of their case and placed them in our ears.
To finish this article, we also want you to know that, finally, the new Apple TV 4K has bluetooth 5.0, thus being able to make the connection of more than a few AirPods to the same device, allowing more than one person to enjoy the content without disturbing third parties with the sound.
