These days we saw the news about Netflix and YouTube that they were willing to collaborate as much as possible so as not to saturate the network and that people who telework at home can do it without having any problem. Well, Apple joins this cause and during these days will reduce video quality of its content so that this saturation does not occur. With millions of people confined to their homes, internet band consumption is higher and for this reason video services are noticing much higher consumption peaks than in normal situations.
Responsible use of the network is everyone's business
The operators are constantly saying that the best remedy is that we consume content with responsible use, that the networks of our country in this case will well withstand the increase in consumption due to the expansion of fiber optics that we have in the country, but this does not give us the right to abuse. Users who work from home have to be fully guaranteed to do so and this goes through the solidarity and responsible use.
These video quality reductions are what they do is reduce 4K or HD to somewhat lower resolutions so that we can continue to see the content but not in the maximum resolution.
