Last Sunday night the 47th edition of the Daytime Emmy Awards was held, two of which went to two of the children's series that Apple makes available to all its subscribers: Ghostwriter y Snoopy in space.
Other series that also won accolades at the 47th Daytime Emmy Awards were Sponge Bob (a whole classic), Disney Mickey Mouse, Jeopardy y trike the latter available on Netflix. It is appreciated that commitment to Apple's children's audience has been rewarded, because it indicates that it will continue to focus part of its project on the little ones.
The series “The Ghost Writer” won the award in the category “Outstanding Children's Program”. Notably, Apple was nominated for a total of 17 Daytime Emmy Awards, being 8 the nominations that this series obtained. In the category "Single Camera Editing" Apple was awarded for the animated film "Peanuts in Space".
In the official press release that Apple has published, it states that it is the first time that a streaming video service has won an award during its first year of operation.
In this Apple is absolutely right, but it was not until a few years ago, how much these services have been eligible for this type of award, so Apple's feat is not spectacular as they try to make us see. If both Netflix and HBO had been eligible for this type of award from their first edition, most likely they would also have won some.
As its name indicates, the Daytime Emmy Awards are the Emmy awards granted by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to the daytime programming. The most important awards, the Emmy, are one of Apple's last hopes for this year to win an important award within the most important categories.
