Apple to update 12 ″ MacBook in March keynote

According to the latest rumors circulating about the next news from the Cupertino company, Apple would be preparing the update of its latest ultrabook, the 12 ″ MacBook, which would come with brand new processors.

New MacBooks in March?

As you all already know, March is the month in which Apple could organize a new media event in which it would present some of its novelties to start the year. One of those that are already taken for granted is that new iPhone 5se, a 4 ″ smartphone that without abandoning the quality so characteristic of the company, would present a price slightly lower than Apple's 6 and 6s range, although not for the idea of launching a “low cost” model like some, again, they insist on thinking, if not simply because it will be a smaller device and with some shortcomings. Along with him, a lot has also been rumored about the Watch Apple 2 (humor that has quickly run out of steam in favor, simply, of new straps and, perhaps, some new partnership like the one we have already seen with Hermès) and even a new iPad Air 3 that could incorporate up to 4GB of RAM. All are rumors, as is the very celebration of this hypothetical keynote, but DigiTimes now adds fuel to the fire by talking about a new 12 ″ MacBook, well, more of a plain and simple update.

New MacBook

On this occasion, the idea of Apple renewing the last of its laptops is not far-fetched because, if we look back, we will see that it was precisely in March of last year when the company presented this new model, a clear successor to the current one MacBook Air range. However, we should not wait long. According to the aforementioned medium, the update of the 12 ″ MacBook would be limited to the incorporation of new Intel Skylake processors.

Perhaps the greatest novelty, however, is that it would be the beginning of the expansion of these new processors. At the end of the first quarter of this year, the production of the 13,3 ″ MacBook and already during the third quarter, in the middle of summer, the production of a 15 ″ MacBook.

If all this is confirmed, the big question is, what will happen to the family MacBook Air? Will it stop being updated in view of its more than probable next extinction?
