Last October we announced that some Macs and other Apple products would join the list of vintage and obsolete devices of the Cupertino company at the end of this year, and that is what just happened today. Apple typically carries out this process with some of its products that are already will not be supported by the technical repair service of the company in the Apple Store. As we already warned on that occasion, it is not necessary to be alarmed and it is true that the official Apple support will no longer be valid for these Macs and other devices, surely if a problem arises we can repair it in some SAT of trust, since parts of these Macs are sure to be found outside of Apple itself.

Obviously it is always better for the company itself to have the spare parts or accessories for our Mac available to the user and to be able to repair it in case of breakdown, but it is normal that after more than 6 years they stop giving official support. This is the list of equipment that will no longer be supported:

  • iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009)
  • iMac (27-inch, Late 2009)
  • MacBook Air (Mid 2009)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2009)
  • Time Capsule 802.11n (2nd generation)
  • Apple Cinema Display (23-inch, DVI, Early 2007)
  • Apple Cinema Display (30-inch DVI)
  • MacBook (13-inch, Early 2008)
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2008)
  • MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2008)
  • Time Capsule 802.11n (1nd generation)
  • iPod touch (1th generation)

The list of Macs that go vintage and obsolete grows by the minute from its official website we can see all the models that have this rating by Apple. In addition to these Apple products, the purchase of Beats add new products to the vintage and obsolete list:

  • iBeats
  • Beatbox
  • Beatbox Portable (1st generation)
  • Wireless (1st generation)
  • diddybeats
  • Heartbeats (1st generation)
