Apple wants to launch the Pro Display XDR replacement for Macs, but cheaper

Pro Display XDR

One of Apple's most controversial devices is the Pro Display XDR. Not because it is not special or impressive in terms of technology and construction, but the price it has is something out of the ordinary. Especially since it was launched at the same time as the Mac Pro, its price is not exactly cheap either. Therefore, this news that could well be a rumour, a similar but cheaper screen is something that always comes in handy.

In 2016, the American company launched a screen that can be considered affordable. The 27-inch Thunderbolt display and we haven't had anything like it since. It was put up for sale ProDisplay XDR at a prohibitive price. I do not want to enter if it is a fair price or not, simply and objectively, It is a price that is not within everyone's reach.

Now, rumors suggest that they are working on new cheaper screens. We don't know too much right now, only that Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, a trusted analyst with very good insights and insights in the past, has dropped this bombshell: A successor to Thunderbolt Display is in the works. It looks like it will be sold as a consumer-oriented monitor from lower cost and will coexist alongside the Pro Display XDR.

Apple may plan to release the screen in two sizes. In 24, 27 and 32 inches. Supposedly, LG is working on new independent screens that could be for Apple in those sizes already mentioned. In fact, it is said that the 24-inch and 27-inch models could be new lower-priced options. While the 32-inch model could be a replacement for the Pro Display XDR. This worthy successor to the Pro Display XDR will probably still be priced at around €5.000. while the others, they could reduce their price by up to half in the case of the 27-inch one and up to 1000 euros in the case of the 24-inch one.

It is not very well known when the launch of these screens will be, if they come true, but they could take the opportunity to launch at the same time than the other Mac models planned for this 2022.
