Apple has always been known for opening its own stores in iconic locations in many cities around the world. Without leaving Spain, we can see the Apple Store at Puerta del Sol in Madrid, one of the most emblematic places not only in the city but also for almost all of Spain. According to the Washington Post, Apple would have presented a proposal to open a new Apple Store in Washington DC along with an event center within the library Carnegie in Mount Vernon Square. Apparently Apple has been negotiating for some time with Events DC, the city agency in charge of holding all kinds of events in the city.

This company has been considering creating an activity venue at the Carnegie Library in Washington for some time, and it appears that the Cupertino-based company has welcomed this proposal. But it seems the initial idea came from the company itself which at the beginning of the year presented the idea to the company in charge of managing the events throughout the city.

According to Events DC advisor Jack Evans who has praised the idea:

In that part of the city we have a lot of people living today. It seems to me an excellent idea that could be carried out without great difficulties.

Apple wants its new Washington DC sales center to be more than just a sales center. But it also wants to expand this new type of store to other locations such as Union Square in San Francisco. These event centers would offer outdoor seating, a free internet connection and a space for concerts, forums and children's parties. The problem Apple faces with this idea is that the location would be a place run with public money, which probably it would raise reactions of all kinds within citizens and local authorities.
