Concepts, concepts are, and on many occasions, they are way ahead of their time, though not always. For many years, we have seen iPhone concepts without frames, with screens on both sides (and even behind), designs that correspond to the distant future. However, we also find more realistic concepts like the one we show you today.
The designer Wilson Nicklaus (@ Wilson_boi_101) has posted on his Twitter account several concepts of how he imagines it could be the next generation of Apple Watch, a design clearly inspired by that of the new iPhone 12 inherited from the iPad Pro range with flat edges.

Apple introduced this design with the launch of the iPad Pro in 2018, a design with flat edges. like the one found in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. Although at the moment there is no evidence that points to a change in the design of the Apple Watch, Wilson Nicklaus has created a design that, to be honest, is quite attractive, another thing is that it is practical.
And I say practical, why have a flat edge attached to the wrist does not look very comfortable. We just have to take a look at the watches that have always reached the market, they all have rounded edges, for the comfort they offer when wearing it in contact with the wrist.
With the launch of the Apple Watch Series 4 in 2018, Apple revamped its design adding a larger screen keeping the same design. That may have been the ideal time to renew the design and implement the same that had been presented with the iPad Pro.
Will this concept see the light? Personally, I would say no, due to the discomfort that the flat design of the edges would cause for the wrist, but that does not mean that this concept is not beautiful.
