Apple will activate two-factor authentication if you install the beta of MacOS High Sierra

MacOS High Sierra

On Monday June 5, Apple presented its new operating system for Mac, with the name of MacOS High Sierra, which will be released next fall. The company of the bitten apple has us accustomed to telling us the great news, but for a period of time and with the intention of continuing to create expectations, always leave details that we will discover with the different betas of MacOS High Sierra. At other times, we are the users who discover and share them. In this case, it is not a new feature, but a feature that will be mandatory once you install the beta version.

If your Apple ID has previously been registered in the Apple developer program or in the access to public betas, surely you have received the following email.

In it it is announced that Apple will automatically activate two-factor authentication for you, if you decide to install any of the public betas of MacOS High Sierra during this summer.

Apparently for For security reasons, Apple wants all active users to use two-step verification. It is a good measure, because in such a connected world, it compromises us all, because if someone accesses an Apple user, they obtain the information they have stored: contacts, e-mail, telephone numbers, that is, sensitive information from each of your contacts.

It is very easy to work with it. To do this, you must first register at least the Apple devices that you use most frequently. When you enter your Apple ID and password, it tells you what devices are available. Select the one you have the most at hand and type the password. This is not complicated at all, and the action takes place immediately. You just have to check the six digits that have been sent to the device in question. As simple as that.

Finally, if you are curious and have time and want to install public betas of MacOs High Sierra this summer, I recommend the article from our partner Jordi on how to do it. Of course, carefully and never on your main system.
