We are at the beginning of the last month of the year 2017 and, how could it be otherwise, we began little to discover what the next quarter will hold for the Cupertino-based company. One of the fronts open for this year 2018, are the Lawsuits opened in Europe for tax evasion for the last few years in Ireland.
In this way we know that, after what was ruled by the European Commission during the past year regarding Ireland's tax treatment with Apple, the company will begin to make the payment of the $ 14.500 million owed in taxes during years of exercises in the European continent.
In this way, it is expected that Apple will begin to pay this huge amount of back taxes during the first quarter of 2018. Finally, the Irish country will begin to receive payment of all the money evaded by the technology giant.
The case is at least curious: Apple and Ireland (part benefited and part allegedly harmed) they have fought side by side against the ruling (knowing the future income that the North American company would continue to leave in the country thanks to the benefit of current conditions).
The payment will be made gradually and, because Apple maintains that the calculation of the amounts is oversized, will be accumulated in a custodial fund as long as this process remains open and is being carried out in the Irish republic, where the taxes evaded for years by the apple company are thoroughly studied.
Paschal Donohoe, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Ireland, assured that the process will begin during the first quarter of this coming year 2018 and that, once January has arrived, we will have more information on the steps that will be carried out to ensure the existing agreement between both parties involved.
