Apple to replace iconic cube in New York's Fifth Avenue store

Since its opening, the Fifth Avenue store in New York has become a must-see for all Apple lovers. This store became an icon of the company thanks to glass cube that Jobs himself designed exclusively for this store, a cube whose initial dimensions were reduced due to the urban regulations of the city. Since last January, these facilities have been closed for reform, a reform that will serve as a step to expand the space of the same, going from almost 3000 square meters to 7000.

But this reform does not focuses solely on expanding store space, but will also allow to modernize the facilities adapting it to the new design that we can see in the recently opened Apple Stores. Also, as we can read in BuildZoom, the gigantic glass cube will be replaced. The site plans to which BuildZoom has had access state that it will be completely removed, and a new structure of similar dimensions will be replaced, after permission has been obtained from the New York City Council.

As usual, the prices of the cost of the works that Apple does are exorbitant. In order to remove the entire structure and replace it with another of similar dimensions, the Cupertino guys will have to pay $ 2 million. While the iconic store is under construction, Apple has set up a temporary Apple Store near these facilities to meet the high demand of visitors that this store received every day. The new Apple Store will have a radio booth for Beats 1, so that the announcer who broadcasts from New York can conduct live interviews, as well as perform some other acoustic for all store attendees and Apple Music subscribers. .
