Apple wins lawsuit over FaceTime bug

FaceTime

Last January, the Cupertino boys were forced to disable group calling via FaceTime due to a bug, which allowed the caller to automatically answer the calls they made. Although this bug was reported several times, it seems that at Apple they did not give it the importance it had.

Of course, once he recognized the error, because the media published it, financially rewarded the young man which I had discovered it while playing Fortnite. As expected, that bug was exploited by a lawyer to denouncing the Cupertino-based company stating that their privacy had been compromised.

According to this lawyer, the conversation with one of his clients had reached the opposite party due to this security flaw. Coincidentally, the opposing party knew before anyone else that this bug existed and had taken advantage of it to their advantage. It should be remembered that as soon as this error was made public, Apple proceeded to deactivate group calls.

It wasn't until the release of iOS 12.1.4 and macOS 10.14.3 that they became available again.. In fact, if you continue on iOS 12.1.3, the version where this bug is found, your terminal you will still not be able to receive or make group calls, as it is still disabled in this version to avoid the operation of this bug.

As expected, Apple has won the first lawsuit it received for this security breach, completely dismissing the case that Williams II had presented, since it did not provide sufficient evidence that Apple was aware of this problem and had not solved it previously. Furthermore, the court acknowledged that the particular audio error was unreasonably dangerous as if to be a valid complaint in this regard.
