Apple would be looking for manufacturers for the Apple Watch 2

Although it is a "secret" data from Apple, when we look at the sales of the Apple Watch we are all clear that it is a wearable that has sold well but it does not seem too well. The Cupertino boys keep hiding the sales figures for the company's first smartwatch and it is evident that they do not seem to show any interest in publishing it either, but now that the period of the year where gifts are the order of the day is approaching, we are sure that these figures will increase and one day Apple will publish them.

Obviously now that the rumors about a second version arrive on the scene everything changes. According to these rumors Apple wants to have the second version of the watch available by summer 2016 - at least for the countries of the first wave of launches - and this would imply a massive production of the watch. For this they would be looking for new manufacturers in addition to those you currently have to assemble the current device.

It seems that in addition to Quanta Computer, the second generation of this watch could come from factories known to Apple with which you have previously worked. These companies are Foxconn Wistron or Inventec among others ... Quanta's own president, Barry Lam, explained the work involved in assembling the current watch and did not ask for help directly, but did hint at it. Delivery times and pressure from the company itself must be strong and that is why negotiations with other manufacturers to help it are on the table.

The news that this second version of the watch is rumored to bring comes basically in its interior hardware, so the problem of a new design disappears and this would facilitate its assembly. As long as the end user does not notice the change from one factory to another, this is more a logistics issue than anything else.
