Audio Hijack is updated with live streaming support

In everything related to the world of podcasts, all too often we see a step forward but also a step back. In the US, which are ahead of us on this issue, we learned in March that the developer Rogue Amoeba had planned to suspend the service to broadcast her shows live over the internet.

They seem to have thought better of it, and we have seen in this week's Audio Hijack update, where The company is updating its popular Audio Hijack audio recording application with support for live streaming.

Audio Hijack 3.5 is designed for Internet radio transmission, with a new Broadcast output block that allows audio to be sent to Shoutcast and Icecast servers. It is perfect for running live broadcasts of podcast recordings, as well as for live DJing and all types of Internet radio broadcasts.

Another aspect where Audio Hijack stands out is in the simplicity of function for streaming audio. You just have to add the Broadcast module and the application will transmit it to your server in MP3 or ACC format. The supported servers will be Shoutcast 2, Shoutcast 1 and Icecast 2 for streaming audio.

For those using AAC, Audio Hijack will be able to use adaptive bit rate, using HE-AAC at the time it is available. Another available function is to be able to inform listeners which song is currently playing.

Don't worry about the audio quality we are transmitting, because has multicast. This allows adapting the audio quality to each user, being able to reproduce in high, medium or low quality. It also allows you to choose the audio format you want to listen to, as long as your player allows it.

Audio Hijack is available in the shop from the developer for $ 59. If you come from previous versions but want version 3 of the application, you will have to pay $ 25 to update it.
