Backup and Sync is now compatible with macOS High Sierra and the APFS system

A few hours ago we discussed the differences between backup services, now that the backups of our data in cloud services are taking hold. One of the last services to arrive has been Backup and Sync, or what is the same, the evolution of Google Drive. After the presentation of the application in spring, Google's cloud backup service saw La Luz last June, coinciding with the presentation of macOS High Sierra at the last WWDC. But the structure of the application was not as advanced as many would have liked.

And the reality is that users of macOS High Sierra betas could not use Backup and Sync. But since yesterday the application is compatible with Apple version 10.13, so that developers can work with it to implement what they see fit. The update to the Apple system has taken a little longer than expected. Google initially gave 3-4 weeks to add support. On the other hand, support also covers the APFS file systemTherefore, we can take advantage of all the news in Apple's new operating system for Mac.

With these two compatibility weeks before the release of the final version of macOS High Sierra, Google wants users to detect possible errors and report them. If you want to update to have all these compatibilities, the exact version is 3.36. On the contrary, within a week, the application will suggest the automatic update.

Lastly, Google wants Google Drive for Mac users to switch to Backup and Sync. As of December 11, the predecessor application will lose support, becoming inactive as of March 2018.
