It is a simple application that offers us the time and date on the desktop of our Mac, but in large size and right in the center of it. The name of the application already says it clearly and surely that at specific moments it can be very useful to have the date and time fixed on the desktop of our Mac.
The application has the basic functions of a watch and it allows us to modify the format in which the time is displayed, show or hide the second hand and change the size to our liking. Logically, it is not an application that offers us a wide range of options and it is true that they could add different sources or clock formats, but this is not the case.
The rest of the simple configuration options that allows us to modify in addition to those mentioned above are the following:
- Change the font color of the clock and date
- Adjust the opacity of the digits
- Add the option to launch it at login
This is not an essential application, far from it, but it can be of great help to us at specific moments to have the time and date at hand even though we can have it smaller in our menu bar. Now the app is totally free for a limited time, so for testing if we like it we are not going to lose anything. The BackgroundClock application has been available since last year in the Mac application store.
