Bing, the search engine that uses Spotlight in OS X Yosemite

Apple uses the Bing browser, Microsoft's search engine for the renewed OS X Yosemite Spotlight and many of the users have some doubts as to why the guys from Cupertino changed from one of the best (if not the best) search engine like Google's, to one that really is ranked among the worst.

This may have multiple readings, but it seems clear that Apple made this move in its revamped and improved Spotlight for OS X 10.10 subtracting users from Google although now it will give them to Bing, which is from Microsoft. In the end, the user of Spotligth also does not think that he will benefit from this change, rather the opposite may happen, that he stops using it.

And it is that Bing continues to need many improvements as a search engine and Apple is aware of this for sure, because otherwise it would also have added it in Safari as the main search engine, which it has not done, leaving Google as a search engine. It is clear that this move by the bitten apple company is a small sign that it wants to get away from Google, but still cannot. Something that would be a direct way to 'become independent' from Google would be to create or buy your own search engine, but this is not an easy task taking into account factors such as advertising in the search engine that provide income to maintain it and there are no movements or interest from Apple in this regard, at least today.

What is true is that now Microsoft has to put the batteries with Bing and we are convinced that it will improve considering that it will add a greater number of users who will use it and who could push them to improve the qualities of this search engine.

Well, I am already one of those users who will be subtracted, because since I realized that it is the one that Apple uses by default in Siri I decided to give it a try on all my devices and it has left me satisfied until now, I think I will stay in Bing for a while more 😛
