Change the audio output from stereo to mono in OSX

Stereo-0

Over time, the world of sound has undergone an evolution as well as other facets of technology both in hardware studios and the method used to reproduce audio more and more faithfully on that hardware, so the mode was born stereo to encompass two independent channels that could expand the listening space and thus better envelop the listener.

Now you ask yourself, what reason would lead me to worsen the way my computer's sound is played? It is a very logical question but it has two answers that can serve as a principle to do so, one of them is obviously directed to people who have a hearing disability, so it is possible that it is the case that in one of its Ears may not be able to appreciate all the details of what they are hearing, it is more useful to set the sound to mono.

The other reason would be to be in an environment where we cannot enjoy music at our ease. One of the most obvious examples would be at work where there are more people who we do not want to "bother" with our music, if they allow us to listen to something, putting on the headphones, but of course, it is also normal that we want to be attentive in case they tell us something and have an ear uncovered in case they require our attention.

It is at this moment where we can perfectly change the audio output to mono to listen to the two stereo channels in one and not miss any detail of what we are listening, since if we left it in stereo and we did not listen to through the two headphones, we would be losing a channel. To configure it, we just have to follow this route:

System Preferences> Accessibility> Audio> Play Stereo Audio As Mono

Stereo-1

With this we will have it, we can listen to what we want in great detail without losing one of the two channels and ultimately, quality of listening.
