How to change the account from which we send an email with Mail

If you use Mail as an email application and since you most likely do not have only one email account, surely from Mail you manage most of your email accounts since it is compatible with all services, at least those major email providers, such as Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, IMAP and POP services ... Mail allows us to establish a default email account, email account that is usually the one we use the most when sending emails. When you are going to send a new email, the account from which it is sent is this, but it is not always the one we want to use.

Changing the account from which we send an email is a process that it takes us very little time. In this article we are going to show you how we can do it.

Change the account from which we send emails in Mail

First of all and before carrying out this process, we must have more than one email account configured in the Mail application, since otherwise no email from an alternative account will appear to modify the account from which we sent the email. Once we have two or more email accounts, we must proceed as follows:

  • Click on Compose new message.
  • First of all we introduce the recipient, and the subject of the mail.
  • Then we go to From: and click on the account shown so that a menu is displayed with all the email accounts that we have configured in our application.
  • Now we just have to select account from which we want to send the email, write or attach the files we want to send and click on Send.

Of my 4 email accounts, only Google and iCloud are active. Connection error appears in Gmail and Hotmail: "There was an error connecting to this SMTP account, verify that your username and password are correct."
This error appeared to me several days ago, after a notice of an alleged suspicious activity (originated in South Africa, I live in Venezuela) in my email. I followed the instructions to protect my account and surely I made a mistake, because I could not solve the problem. Thanks for your attention..!!
