Video game developer Jonathan Hirz has recently seen a question sent to his Twitter account in which a user from Germany wondered if it would be possible to change the classic trash can icon in OS X by a small icon of the new Mac Pro that served as the trash can.
This being the case, this developer has not wasted time on find images and adapt them in such a way that we will be able to replace the icon without any problem.
I also consider it important to emphasize that today is the launch day of the new Mac Pro and that best way to celebrate this event than by doing "honors" to the new team at our desks than by placing the team in it, even if it is in the form of a trash can.
To get this small customization We will only have to download the attached file that Hirz has "lent" us from his website and that you can do so by just clicking here.
Once downloaded, we will follow these simple steps to replace the aforementioned icon:
- We will head down this route Macintosh HD> System> Library> CoreServices> Dock and we will click on it by right-clicking to choose «Show package content».
- We will enter Content> Resources
- We will make a backup copy of the folder by copying it in full and we will replace the necessary files that we had previously downloaded from the link that I left you.
- We will open the terminal in Utilities> Terminal and we'll put 'Killall Dock'.
Simply with that we will have the icon in its place acting as a trash can. In particular I don't like the design too much and I don't think I will leave this mod installed, even so if you like this type of tricks, you can do it now.
