The Emmy and Tony Award Winner, Cherry Jones, has joined the cast of the upcoming Apple TV + drama series "Five Days at Memorial." She will play Susan Mulderick, director of nursing at Memorial Hospital and chair of its emergency preparedness committee, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, she becomes the hospital's designated incident commander.
Jones, is known for her work on Defending Jacob, "Succession" and "The Handmaid's Tale", joins existing cast members Vera Farmiga, Cornelius Smith Jr. and Adepero Oduye. John Ridley and Carlton Cuse are adapting and executive producing the series. In addition, both will direct the occasional episode. Fink, the author of the book, will serve as producer on the series.
"Five Days at Memorial" narrates the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina from the point of view of Memorial Hospital in New Orleans. Based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Sheri Fink, the series delves into the moral and ethical dilemmas the characters are forced into during the ordeal.
Step by step, Apple TV + is getting a good and more extensive billboard of series, documentaries and movies. There is much left but the road is paving and of course for quality it will not be.
