Choose your preferred resolution with Quickres

Today we are talking about a simple application but will make things easier for you when it comes to accessing certain system settings such as screen resolution, and it is precisely in that aspect where this program stands out when it takes over. Quickres has been designed and conceived to install itself in your menu bar as a background process and help you change resolution quickly

More resolutions and more accessible

We can also highlight that this application gives you the option to choose more resolutions than those that are predefined by the system, even supports HiDPI modes for "retina" resolutions and thus increase the detail of your screen.

As you will see from the attached image, we can also enjoy more options for low resolutions if we need to adapt an old program specifically programmed in those resolutions. It is also possible to adjust the screen at a higher resolution than native on certain models using a trick that increases the pixel-per-inch ratio to match higher resolutions by adding black bands.

One of the parts that I liked the most is being able to choose the resolution you want switching between one and the other simply using keyboard shortcuts, being able to configure a maximum of 8 different resolutions. As it always happens, not everything is perfect so there are still compatibility failures in some equipment, I have been able to verify at least on my iMac (late 2012) that when the resolution changes the color palette also changes and there is no way to reverse the change but we remove or exit the application. Anyway, if you want to download and try it, you have it available for free through the Mac App Store and the Homepage from the developer.
