Craig Federighi doesn't see a touchscreen in the Macs of the future

Many rumors have reached the net about the possibility of Apple launching a touchscreen Mac and the competition has some interesting models with these types of options, without going any further, the latest laptop model from the Chinese company Huawei (the one that looks like the MacBook physically) has a touch screen with hardly any spectacular frames.

In this case, what seems clear after the words of the senior vice president of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, in last Monday's keynote is that the Mac will not have touchscreens at least in the short or medium term, but it can never be firmly confirmed since there is a time for everything.

At the moment it will not be possible

Apple is not going to experiment with this type of screen and therefore leaves this touch technology to the competition, which on the one hand we would like and on the other not, let me explain. Without a doubt, being able to perform actions by touch is something that we have absorbed thanks to current devices and therefore it would not be difficult for us to adapt to a touch interface, but on the contrary, touching the screen does not seem the best option when we are in front of a Mac, leaving the dirty screen or even making "unnatural" gestures does not seem to be the best option for using Macs.

The Touch Bar paved the way for touch in MacBook Pro and we all thought that a screen of this type would finally arrive on Mac, but it seems that all this will have to wait a little longer until Apple convinces itself of the options of this type of displays on Macs and then can be deployed on computers. Really the comfort of the Touch Bar is conspicuous by its absence until you really adapt to it and only a few take advantage of it, in any case it can be a good start to improve this technology in Macs and end up implementing improvements in this sense, yes, leaving the screen as it is right now without touch panel.

Not even the strongest would endure an hour editing in Photoshop

Well some functions may be fine, obviously not all of them as you say.
