They create an application that replicates the operation of the Touch Bar on the iPad

In the last keynote, Apple spent a large part of the time explaining the benefits of the new Touch Bar, an OLED touch screen that allows us to interact with applications in another way, offering different functions depending on the context in which we find ourselves at that moment. If we are playing music, in the Touch Bar tothe music controls will appear along with the volume. If we are writing in Word, the Touch Bar will show us the typical command copy, paste, bold, italic ... Apple's goal in creating this touch screen is to increase productivity.

Moments before the end of the keynote, Apple announced the prices of the new MacBook Pros, prices that had increased dramatically compared to the previous model, which aroused the ire of many users who have directly chosen not to get this device until the price drops a bit. If you are one of these users but you think that you cannot do without the Touch Bar, some developers have created an application that replicates how it works, an application that allows us to show the Touch in bar on another device, such as an iPad.

The only requirement is that both devices, both the Mac and the iPad, are connected via the USB cable. Andreas Verhoeven and Robbert Klarenbeek have posted on YouTube a video in which we can see the operation of this particular Touch Bar, which although it does not offer us the same user experience, is the closest thing that we will be able to enjoy if we do not plan to acquire the new MacBook Pros. Plus the code is on GitHub, so that any developer can use it.

If we have an iPad that has ceased to have a useful life for us, it may be a good idea to use it as a Touch Bar. Now we just have to wait and see if developers dare to launch an application in the App Store that allows you to interact with applications in this way and see if Apple allows these types of applications to land in the App Store, something that I seriously doubt.
