As reported by The Washington Post, the minds behind the creation of Siri have a new project on their hands. The creators of Siri They are working on a new intelligence joint called Viv which will be able to perform many more functions than Siri, Cortana or Google Now. According to its creators, it will be the "assistant" that everyone needs and not a simple help whose usefulness is very limited.
Dag Kittlaus and Adam Cheyer creators of Siri, are the same ones who have been working on the new assistant baptized with the name Viv. In fact, a third of the workers who were in charge of Siri eThey are now working on Viv, after leaving the company due to differences regarding the functionalities that the Apple assistant could have but those of Cupertino did not want to integrate.
Viv has become what Siri could be today. Kittlaus and Cheyer started working on Viv in 2003, long before Siri. Viv is capable of performing functions and actions Siri cannot and will not be able to in the future. The Washington Post newspaper has had access to a test of this new virtual assistant and have been able to make a pizza through the assistant without having to type at any time or download any application.
Viv integrates into the system with a wide variety of applications and can be used for more than just ordering pizzas. Viv integrates into the operation of applications so that we do not need to open them to be able to use the functions such as requesting a car from Uber depending on where we find it. In certain respects Viv is similar to how the Amazon Echo works. Both are integrated into the applications to be able to use all their functions only through voice commands.
As is logical, large companies such as Google and Facebook have already been interested in this project, but they have not reached any kind of agreement. Viv will perform publicly next Monday.
