When we minimize a window in OS X we can enjoy a couple of animations, the so-called Aladdin Effect or the Scaled Effect. These animations can be changed within the System preferences in section Dock and today we will see a possible bug in one of these animations, specifically in the aladdin effect.
I am not sure if it is a problem exclusive to the latest version of OS X Mavericks or simply something that already existed in previous versions, but what is clear is that it is something curious and that I personally was completely unaware.
This is something that will not bring us any benefit and that it is not necessary to know, but if we have an acquaintance or family member who uses Mac we can make a little joke with this 'slowing down' of the aladdin effect when we minimize a window on the Mac . To see this strange bug or strange effect when minimizing a window when we have activated the 'Aladdin Effect', all we have to do is press the shift key just at the moment we press the orange window button to minimize, later we will see how the window is minimized in a way spectacularly slow.
As I say it is just a curiosity that has no negative effects of any kind on our Mac and it is not a problem for the operation of the system, but what if it will allow us to play a little joke to someone we know saying that of: Hey, this that your piece of Mac does is normal?
this existed in Panter, Tiger and others ... but even now it is still spectacular. jmf
I confirm it.
It is not a "bug". Holding down the "shift" key slows down the animations, the "Launchpad" ones too, for example.
And when maximizing the same thing happens, we are already double curious 😉 my question is… is it a Bug or could it be intended by Apple? if it already has so many versions like this….
That trick was long established in OS X. It was the typical thing with which you made the rock smile. When I was a fnac salesman, I used it to make customers smile 😛
Yes, it already existed and obviously it is one of the many hidden tricks of Apple ...
