DaVinci Resolve is now 5x faster editing 8K video on new MacBook Pros

Blackmagic Design has announced a new update to its professional video editing and color correction software, DaVinci Resolve, which adds full compatibility with Apple's new M1 Pro and M1 Max processors that Apple introduced last week and that are already on sale.

With this new update, Davinci Resolve is now up five times faster 8K video editing on new MacBook Pro models from Apple. However, this is not the only novelty offered by the latest update of this professional video editor.

Last August, DaVinci Resolve to offer video rendering 3x faster on Macs with Apple's ARM processor. The completely redesigned rendering engine has been further optimized for take advantage of the more powerful chips in the new MacBook Pro models.

Optimizations are based on the hardware acceleration support for Apple's ProRes code, which has been specifically designed for Macs with M1 Pro and M1 Max processors to run up to five times faster on the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, even when editing 8K video.
