Mark Bomback has stated that the script (based on the book by William Landay) the "it was initially sent with the idea of it being a movie. I started reading it and immediately thought that if I put the script into a movie, I would regret it. Because, this is not the kind of movie that you actually make. It would not do justice ”.
Bomback understands something about scripts since he has participated in films such as "The Raise of the Apes", "total challenge" ... etc. He thought that if he made a movie he would not arrive to cover all the meaning of the script that had been passed to him and decided to present the work as a series.
