How to delete multiple contacts together on macOS

If we always like to know all the phone numbers of the people who call us, it is likely that in time our agenda is full of phone numbers with its corresponding name. Sometimes, our phonebook can go a bit crazy and randomly delete the odd phone number, forcing us to save it again in our phonebook if we receive a call from someone we know.

It is also likely that those contacts that had disappeared from our agenda, magically appear again. All this that I am in contact with is not science fiction as some may think, since it has happened to me on a large number of occasions, which forced me to erase the entire agenda and start from scratch to solve this damn problem.

But you don't have to be so drastic, unless you're up to your nose like I was. When we start to review the agenda and we see that a contact is duplicated or we simply want to clean, the fastest way and always do it from our Mac, not from our device, more than anything because it is the fastest way to do it since what's more allows us to delete contacts together, without having to go one by one.

Delete contacts together on macOS

  • First of all, we must go to the contacts application.
  • Next we click on the first contact that we want to delete.
  • To continue selecting the contacts that we want to delete, we must press the CMD key and go one by one selecting them.
  • To delete them we just have to go to the top menu and click on Edit to later select Delete contacts.
  • A dialog box will appear in which we will be asked for confirmation to perform this task. We just have to click on Delete so that our agenda is freed from all those contacts that were duplicated or no longer interested us.

Keep in mind that if you have the contacts synchronized in iCloud, those that are deleted from our Mac will also be deleted from all devices associated with the same account with contact synchronization activated.
