How to remove location data from photos we share

Just yesterday I showed you an application that allowed us to completely add, edit or delete the GPS coordinates that are included by default every time we take a photograph or video. This utility can be very useful for many people, especially for be able to quickly organize and detect all photos by location.

But when it comes to sharing the photos, it is likely that we do not like to share exactly the location where they have been made. In the world of photography, especially among professionals, the places to take photographs are a very precious commodity and try to avoid by all means that this information is known.

If we want to eliminate this information, it is likely that the reason is the same or similar. If you regularly use the Photos application to store and share your favorite photos, in addition to sharing them, you probably don't want to share the exact location where they were taken. To remove this data, you can use third-party applications available on the Mac App Store, or you can go one by one eliminating this information, but it is a long and very tedious process.

Fortunately, the macOS Photos application offers us the ability to share our favorite photos through the application eliminating the data related to the location of the same, in order to prevent other people from having access to our favorite place. To prevent the location data of our photographs from being shared, we must go to the Photos application and enter the application's Preferences.

Within the application preferences, we will find two tabs: General and iCloud. We head to General. Now we look for the Metadata option and uncheck the box "Include location information in published items." In this way, every time we share our images through the application, the data related to its location will be automatically deleted from the images that are being shared, not from the images that we have stored.
