Today it has been published that the famous film and television director Ridley Scott has signed an agreement with Apple to produce television content and expand the offer of the Apple TV + platform. If he already surprised us with Alien, we'll see what Scott has in mind this time.
The digital magazine Deadline published today that Apple has signed a preliminary agreement with Scott Free Productions, Ridley Scott's production company. This is another great multi-year pact seen for Apple and Apple TV + video streaming platform. This particular agreement will see the production company develop television projects for the Apple platform.
Famous director and producer Ridley Scott (Alien Blade Runner) will remain as executive producer on these new television shows, under Scott Free Productions.
As it happens, Scott already worked for Apple many years ago. He was the director of the famous 1984 Apple ad. 36 years later, their paths meet again, but this time, to do more than just an advertisement.
In terms of television series, Scott Free Productions has been behind such popular series as The Good Wife, The Man in the High Castle, The Terror, etc. The company has also served as a production vehicle for films such as Mars, Gladiator or Top Gun. The company has earned more than 100 Emmy nominations over the years, garnering 22 statuettes.
It is certainly an important signing by Apple. We'll see what series this deal will delight us with in the future.
